Hope for America

Video Music: Countdown

We all have faith in our Divine Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  However, that is often seen only as hope for some future time in Heaven rather than a hope for anything here on this Earth.

American Christians who do not subscribe to Christian fundamentalism and conservative evangelicalism sometimes wonder if there is any temporal hope for the Christian faith in this present world. Everyone needs hope. No earthly hope can be found in Donald J. Trump—that much is for sure. But we millions, upon millions, upon millions of nonfundie Christians do have some reasons for extra daily hope in these dark, unkind, and merciless times. A little data research and compilation exercise was performed here at the blog, just for fun, and the results were both surprising and filled with hope for the future of the Christian faith in the United States of America.  Just look at the long list below and play the video above:

Right through your fingers, dah-dah-dah, time slips away-yay……..”

I do not wish death upon any of the people listed below, and I certainly do not pray for their deaths. Everyone should be allowed to live for as many years, months, and days that they can on this Earth. Nonetheless, the baseline fact of the matter is that we are all mortal. If we do not die prematurely in a traffic accident or in some other tragedy, we will inevitably die of natural causes.

Personally, just my own honest opinion, I suspect that the Christian faith in our country will move to a much better and more loving place after all the folks on the list below have passed away from natural causes. This is not said to encourage you to feel the same way or to hurt anyone. I am just expressing my own personal opinion about the bright future of the Christian faith in the United States—-which will begin blossoming sometime in the next 20 years or so.  Indeed, I think the seeds of it are already sprouting in many places across the United States. When these sprouts grow and finally reach the point of fully flowering, none of the people listed below will be present to oppose it or stop its coming. Things are about to turn around as Jesus leads the people of our country out of the current Christian fundamentalist and conservative evangelical darkness into a new and more progressive Christian faith that has been reformed to fully reflect the heart and mind of Jesus Christ and his love.

Play the music video above one more time and think of it as a hymn for the 21st century and the new future of the Christian faith in the United States.  Just like the song says:

Things are about to turn around…how the madness fay—yades

Benediction

I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found (Psalms 37:35-36).

Note:  You may have noticed that Reverend Billy Graham is not on the above list.  There is a reason for that. He was an excellent servant of Jesus who stood 10,000 feet taller than any of the people on the above list. Read it and weep boys.
